![]() ![]() The vest was in fact designed with fabrics of many kinds that create texture and also an interesting tactile sensation”, this is Maurizio Corraini’s recollection of that extravagant as well as imaginative idea. It is an object that shows well the importance to him of learning and knowing through all five senses, from sight to touch. ![]() “We asked Munari to think of a display that could show all the books-and he designed a vest for us. The artist and designer then thought better of disorienting everyone for the umpteenth time in his career, and tangibly manifesting his incredible ability to think totally outside the box with the creation of a multi-pocket vest, yes, a vest. At that point came Corraini’s request to Munari: “we would need a display for this new series”. It was the year 1992, and at the time the publishing house Corraini and Bruno Munari were working together on the presentation of some volumes of the “Block Notes” series, a kind of collection of ideas and projects but in pocket format, so easily transportable without the need for bags or anything else. The story of this project is actually very short and at the same time very simple. Multifaceted, ingenious and capable of contributions in a variety of fields of expression, Munari has consistently displaced and taken the entire creative world of Italy and beyond by surprise.īut among the many ideas realized by the Milanese Leonardo figure, there is one that unlike the others has been little told. One of our country’s most brilliant and creative minds, “one of the greatest protagonists of 20th century art, design and graphics”, was Bruno Munari. The Invisible House can be rented for overnight stays, but also for events, shooting and filming. On the roof, which like the house has an area of just over 500 square metres, both a photovoltaic system and a water heating system have been installed. The plan of the Invisible House is rectangular, long and narrow, and in addition to housing a kitchen, a living room, a dining room, 4 bedrooms and bathrooms, inside there is also a 30 meter long swimming pool that occupies half of the living area.Įven the furniture designed by the designer and the manufacturer takes up the clean and minimalist style of the architecture, which in addition to fit perfectly into the landscape has allowed to reduce the environmental impact as much as possible. ![]() From the outside, therefore, the house seems almost to disappear among the rocks and shrubs, while from inside the windows allow you to enjoy the landscape at 360° from any room. The name of the Invisible House comes from its exterior design, in fact the house is completely covered with tempered glass panes that reflect the surrounding environment. Located in the middle of the famous Joshua Tree National Park, the house was built on a series of reinforced concrete pillars and is completely horizontal. Designer Tomas Osinski and film producer Chris Hanley not only imagined this strange combination but also created it by presenting the Invisible House. Imagine the design and features of a New York skyscraper reproduced in the middle of the desert. ![]()
